Quick, Easy, and Pretty

I'm posting this card on the Poppystamps blog page.  If you want to know more, you'll just have to pop over to read about my snippet/scrap card.  I will say, I like how this card came together and everything was in my snippet folder.  You know Di will be getting a visit from me!

Today is my honey and my 32nd wedding anniversary.....So happy to have shared some amazing years with a man that not only chose me, but chose 4 kids as his own.  Never did I hear him complain.  Thank you Richard for being my husband, father to my children and my friend!  I love you!

Until next time, hugs from Northern California!

Thank You Mary Jane

Yesterday was our Monday Crop friend and co-crafter Mary Jane made a card for my husband for his birthday.  I loved the card and decided to grab a pad of papers and try to create cards using her format.  This is what I made.....
and this.....
I had some snippets left so I had to change the format, thus, one of these things is not like the others!  Notice there are no sentiments....just places to put them.  I think these cards could be used for any occasion, thus, I shall wait for the perfect occasion.  Isn't it fun being inspired by friends?  I have some very inspirational friends and Mary Jane is one of them.  Thanks Mary Jane for inspiring me to create these cards.

When I arrived home, I was met with this cute card....
Dee Dee arrives in 4 days, she sent me this card to say she can't wait.  No this is not a photo of us from our Australia vacation! Although the back ground could be.   I'm wondering who is who....I have skinny legs, maybe that's me in the stripes.  Thanks Dee Dee, sweet creation and  you gave me a giggle!

Until next time, happy crafting.....and Hugs from Northern California!

Three of Anything

Good morning,  This is going to be a quick post, I'm heading out for a day of cropping, chatting and of course much laughter.  Yesterday I made this card while having a play date (doesn't that sound like what our kids say when our grandkids have friends over) with my buddy Brenda.

I'm entering my Santa card on the Craftyhazelnut Challenge - Three of anything.  And I'm also entering this card in Craftyhazelnut Extra Challenge...Anything goes.

I deconstructed a card I'd made years ago, and just didn't like how it turned out.  But I did and still do love the vintage Santa.  With the exception of the base, this card was made from bits and pieces I've had cut but no where to place them.  So, I'll also be sharing on Pixie's Crafty Workshop blog.  I'm sure while visiting the playground there will be much excitement....after all, the gang has been cooped up all winter and the pond is looking very tempting.  Di will have her hands full keeping us all in line.  I have a pocket full of skipping rocks and I am ready!

Here's the inside.....You know, I just can't leave the inside undone.....
Oh look, there are three snowflakes inside too.  And I just noticed, I have three snowflakes as part of my photo display.  I must be thinking in three's today.....

Until later, Have a very crafty Monday,
Hugs from me to you,

Ok ladies, here's what we'll be making at the June card class at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  And here's the second card.....

There will be a little technique or two.  I think this is a Poppystamp kind of class.  Might I say, I LOVE these dies.

Here's when:   June 11 at 1:00 PM.  My classes have been filling up quickly, so if you are interested, please call Karen ASAP:  530-895-0505.  You will need to bring your standard craft supplies:  cutter, ruler, scissors, tape or glue and a smile.

Sparkles Challenge - Favorite Color Combinations

It's June 1st and it's time again for the Sparkles Christmas Challenge.  This month Jo challenged us to make a card showing our favorite color combinations.   I thought, boy this is going to be easy.  Well it wasn't.  I think my favorite color combination is the combination of  colors I'm using on the card I'm making.  Narrowing this down, I love gold, and when I think of Christmas I think green and red.  I'm trying to also work with patterns and I love stripes and dots together.  That said, here's my card for the month of June.  Thanks Jo for making me think colors.  The papers I used are from Echo Park, from the Tis the Season collection 6x6 pad.  I don't know what year, as I seem to hoard Christmas Papers and if the year isn't written on the collection...I don't know what year I had to have them! Of course there are Poppystamps Dies, and a Spellbinder die or two.  I wish I knew the name of the company that made the rubber stamp, but, sadly, I did not keep the packaging! And here is the inside.....
I'm leaving the inside sentiment free at least for now.  I'm not sure who I'll be sending this card to, and I may opt for a short handwritten note, rather than a stamped sentiment.

Check out the other gals on the Sparkles Design Team.  There is always lots of inspiration there.  And, there just might be a prize for someone lucky, lucky, lucky.

The sponsor for this month is:
I'm off to play.  Tomorrow my life long buddy, Dee Dee, is coming for 2 weeks of play.  Our goal is to get many Christmas cards made.  That said, we have not defined "many"  I'm sure there will be some, and lots of fun mixed in.

Before I go, I had a friend say, Christmas Cards already?!?  To that I said, yup, and when you are busy stressfully trying to make cards for friends....I'll be in the kitchen playing with cookie dough.  My card class for July will be Christmas cards.  I'm so glad the girls want to start early!  I was also asked how many cards I need a year.  Last year I needed 73.  This year the list seems to be staying about the same. I'm also trying very hard to make the cards flat and Quarter Fold.  This keeps the price of mailing low.

Ok, off to straighten up my craft room and making the house a bit more tidy!

Hugs from Me to You!
